Sancerre 2011 - Reverdy

This is an un-oaked Sancerre, fresh, young and aromatic. Citrus and apple on the nose with a bit of gooseberries and blackcurrant leaves. Delightfully "green" and fresh. Super dry fresh taste with green apples and a very nice minerality on the finish. This wine should be drunk when young and served straight from the fridge. Hint: The wine can easily stay opened in the fridge for 24 hours, it will only improve…. Sancerre 2011 Reverdy Ca 12€ or 170NOK

Taurus- Muscadet

Wine from Loire (Muscadet) by Domaine l'Ecu based on the white grape called Melon de Bourgogne. Again completely biodynamic winemaking which this domaine has been doing since 1998. The wine requires 4-5 hours decanting but who has got time for that? Opened it yesterday and had a few glasses then and the rest today (better today…). Medium yellow green color. Great minerality on the nose with some citrus fruit, white flowers and a bit of grapefruit. The taste is bone dry with a perfect balanced acidity. Crying out for seafood. A great wine! Taurus 2011 Domaine l'Ecu Loire (Muscadet Severe et Main) Ca 30€

Ch. Lestignac

A bit more wine exploration ongoing, this time another vin de France from just south east of Bordeaux. Also again total biodynamic, with no additives or filtration. 100% Merlot from more than 25 old vines grown on clay calcareous soil has given a dense dark red wine with lots of dark fruit, plum, dark chocolate and a bit of coffee. The taste is very nicely balanced and ever so smooth. Practically no tannins and very kind and easy drinking. Very good indeed! Ch Lestignac Racigas 2011 Ca 35€ Chateau Lestignac

Henry Milan Le Jardin 2010

This is wine exploration. We are in a small area north of Marseille called St Remy de Provence, but it does not belong to any specific appellation and is thus a "Vin de France". Henri Milan has been producing biodynamic wines since 1997 which means for example that no sulphur has been added to the wine. 100% merlot gives a medium red color and the wine is not totally clear as well (cloudy). On the nose lots of red fruit like strawberry, but also a bit of plum and a bit jammy. The taste has a great balance and is ever so smooth, nearly too kind if you see what you mean. Medium to light body. Henri Milan "Le Jardin"2010 Vin de France ca 30-40€ pending on where Only 2500 btls produced and best between 5-10 years old

Scarpa Barbaresco 2004

Scarpa makes only good wines and this Barbaresco is just stunning. Perfect balanced acidity and tannins and a long long finish. Not for beginners, but oh so good if you are used to a bit of tannins and acidity. Dried fruit and autumn leaves on the nose. Super delicious stuff requiring a bit of food with some extra fat (entrecôte or lamb). Barbaresco Tettineive 2004 Scarpa Bottle 1242 Ca 40€ or 475 NOK

Saint Aubin 1er cru En Remilly

What a glorious white wine from Burgundy! Colin-Morey has a very direct style with well hidden oak and a great minerality. I have had the Chassagne Montrachet in London several times and each time it has created a "wine moment"…. I found this Saint Aubin in a local wine store here in Antibes and we had it for lunch today….Omg... Wonderful complex nose of lime, butter , green apples and minerals. Lovely balanced taste and finish. A truly great wine which offers something of the best you can expect from a white wine. Saint Aubin 1er cru En Remilly 2011 Pierre Yves Colin Morey Ca 35€

Condrieu 2009

Condrieu is a special aromatic white wine from Rhone and some may not like it as the oak can be too dominant sometimes. Medium yellow color and very attractive nose of peach, apricot and flowers. Fullbodied dry taste with long finish and a nice minerality. A very good wine by Villard that has different plots of Condrieu as well as St.Joseph. Try with asian or spicy food. Condrieu 2009  Le Grand Vallon Francois Villard Ca 30€

Chassagne Montrachet 2007

I have had this Premier cru Chassagne Montrachet by Pierre Yves Colin-Morey at several occasions at the wine bar 28-50 in London and every time has been a wonderful occasion thanks to the elegancy of the wine. A super duper lovely smell of lime, butter, minerals and spicy undertones with a long long finish. This is a wine for the big moments and occasions. Perfect balance and oh so good…. It costs ca 70£ in the wine bar but more than 60€ in a shop in France… Chassagne Montrachet "Les Baudines" 2007 Pierre Yves Colin Morey Ca 60€ but just brilliant

Chassagne Montrachet Clos Devant 2009

A classic Chassagne Montrachet by Rene Lequin-Colin. It also comes with a handy screwcork. Lime, butter and mineral smell. Dry fruity beautifully balanced taste with a nice minerality in the finish. A great white wine. Chassagne-Montrachet Close Devant 2009 Rene Lequin-Colin Ca 40€

Pibarnon 2005

Deep dark red color from this top domaine in Bandol. It has matured in my cellar for some time now and is drinking really well right now. Dark fruit and cherries on the nose. Big fruity and silky taste with soft elegant and integrated tannins. A lovely red wine from Provence and the seaside of Bandol. Ch de Pibarnon 2005 Bandol 25€ bought at the chateau

Kunstler Pinot Noir Rose

It's spring and close to summer and time to try some Rose wines. This one by the Riesling producer Kunstler in Rheingau in Germany is both reasonable and very nice indeed. The color is pale salmon (not too exciting really) but the nose is fruity with strawberries and apricots as the dominant flavor. The wine is dry, but with a very fruity and fresh finish. Very easy drinking indeed. Kunstler Pinot Noir 2012 Rose Rheingau Ca 140 NOK or 6€
