Chablis Sainte Clair Vieilles Vignes

This is a biodynamic Chablis by Brocard. The producer has today around 100ha with organic vines and has produced organic wines for quite some time now. Pale straw colored wine with a nose of some tropical and citrus fruit. Compared to the ordinary Sainte Clair this one based upon old vines are rounder, bigger and softer. Well balanced acidity and fruit as well as a mineral taste. A very decent Chablis that has not seen oak. If you can't held of this try the ordinary Sainte Claire which might be more widely available. Chablis Sainte Clair 2012 Vieilles Vignes Jean Marc Brocard Ca 18€ or 217 NOK

Refreshing acidity and a great balanced wine with delightful crispy finish. Aperitif or with seafood. Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc 2012 Marlborough 190 NOK or 15$

Crémant de Bourgogne Rose

This is a delicious super dry sparkling from Burgundy. Lovely medium pink color that is sparkling in the glass. Lovely red fruit flavors and a bone dry balanced taste. You can buy rose Champagne for 3 times the price but it won't be 3 times as good. Going with this one for a mere 148 NOK or 12€ should suffice… Also available in magnum. Cremant de Bourgogne Rose Clotilde Davenne 148 kr or 12€

Nuits St.Georges 2009

This is a lovely basic Nuits Saint Georges from 2009 that is drinking well right now. Medium red colour. Attractive smell of red fruit and wet forrest. Perfect balanced wine with a fresh acidity and some tannins of the smooth kind. Lots of red fruit and a medium + finish. A very smooth and seductive wine. Nuits Saint George 2009 Vieilles Vignes Patrice Rion ca 22€

Vieux Bonneau 2010

2010 is very good vintage in Bordeaux which means that if you buy more affordable versions from that area you will normally get good value for money. This one by Ch.Vieux Bonneau that was presented to me at a dinner at NB Sørensen last Monday has all the nice ingredients that you expect from a young and well made Bordeaux. Dark colour, lovely nose of dark fruit, hint of chocolate and some coffee. A long and well balanced aftertaste that moving along perfectly without dropping down too much on the tannin or acidity side. Delicious dark fruit as well and perect with the lamb. Ch Vieux Bonnet 2010 Montagne St.Emilion Ca 180 NOK or 12€

Blind tasting April 2014 Wine # 1

Deep dark red colour and purple rim. Lovely smell of cherries, plum, leather. Quite an attractive and fruity nose. Lovely balanced taste with a great balance between tannins and acidity. Long aftertaste. Soft and elegant fruit. Very good start... Tempranillo??? Pago de los Cappellanes 2009 Ribera del Duero Score 17,60 Ca 200NOK or 15€

Blindtasting April 2014 Wine # 2

Medium dark red and purple rim. Very perfumed nose with flowers, dark berries, flowers  and hay. Very nice indeed. The taste does not match as it is slightly sweet, a bit of pepper, jammy and one feels the high alcohol. Some cherries as well. Totally different taste vs nose. Nice wine but not brilliant. Where and what...? Carinena, Garnacha, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah Les Terrasses 2010 Priorat Score 16,70 Ca 300 or 25€

Blindtasting April 2014 Wine # 3

Medium to light red colour. Discrete, but very nice bouquet of roses, flowers and some red berries. A just fantastic long and velvety full bodied taste with a nice acidity. Perfectly balanced and a wonderful length. Brilliant. Superb wine! Burgundy??? 100% Grenache from 100 year pre-phylloxera vines from Montsant (area around Priorat). Bottle 764 of 1985. La Parde de Haut-Bailly

This is the second wine of Haut-Bailly in Pessac Leognan. 2007 is not the best of years in Bordeaux but this one is drinking beautifully now. Dark red color and a delicate bouquet of dark berries with hints of coffee and chocolate. Great balanced wine with smooth tannins. A fine example of Bordeaux. La Parde de Haut-Bailly 2007 Pessac Leognan Ca 25€

Hermitage Blanc "Chante-Alouette"

This is the first time I have tried a white Hermitage and what a surprise. The grape is Marsanne 100% grown on the steep hills above the small town of Tain l'Hermitage. This was also consumed at Bofinger in Paris and was also decanted. Before decanted it was like marzipan and almonds, but after decanting and some waiting it opened up in an explosion of white flowers, nuts, honey and ginger. Very attractive indeed. The taste was full-bodied, beautifully balanced and long. A great white wine. Chante-Alouette 2008 Hermitage Chapoutier Ca 50€

Corton Charlemagne 2007

Found this Corton Charlemagne on the wine list at Bofinger in Paris. Great medium yellow color but needed decanting prior to drinking. Once it had opened up it expressed nice citrus and mineral flavors with a big dry taste. A very good wine but not a fantastic one. Corton-Charlemagne 2007  Louis Latour Ca 50€ in the shop

Matua Paretai Sauvignon Blanc

A reasonable Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand. Zingy and zesty and pink grapefruit flavors. Jolly good with a fresh dry taste filled with passionfruit. Drink as an aperitif, on the terrace or with seafood. Paretai Sauvignon Blanc 2012 Matua Valley Estate Marlborough Ca 130 NOK or 6€
