Life is too short to drink bad wine

This is the "ultimum" white wine. It has everything you can imagine ; a lovely and complex bouquet, a gorgeous and delicate taste and a very long finish. Although it's very young (2013) it opens up perfectly  in a Burgundy glass and if you drink it at around 10-12c it will reveal all it's flavours and complexity. Expect to pay 60-100€ for such delicious white wine which is expensive but it's pure magic in the glass! Lequin-Colin has many different white Burgundies and is normally a safe bet in the wine shop.

Found this Corton Charlemagne on the wine list at Bofinger in Paris. Great medium yellow color but needed decanting prior to drinking. Once it had opened up it expressed nice citrus and mineral flavors with a big dry taste. A very good wine but not a fantastic one. Corton-Charlemagne 2007  Louis Latour Ca 50€ in the shop

This red Burgundy is one of the highlights from the Vinforum tasting in Stavanger yesterday. This Corton grand cru from Domaine Seguin-Manuel was stunningly well balanced with  lovely integrated acidity and tannins. Pale red colour, lots of red fruit and vanilla on the nose. Long smooth aftertaste. Well done! Corton Grand Cru 2010 Seguin-Manuel ca 70-90€

This is a Grand cru red from Burgundy. I can't remember where and when I bought it, but I have it registered for 40€ purchase price. Not sure that is right, because the wine is symphony of harmony with a long velvety and silky taste. Just pure heaven. The nose is dominated by redcurrants and sweet vanilla undertones. Goes probably best with veal but went really well with Olympic gold to Norway in handball.. Le Corton by Bouchard we are in heaven....

Lovely light yellow Burgundy served at Restaurant Sørensen in Stavanger. Packed with nuts, marzipan, ripe apples and minerals. Big mouthful of delightful dry fruit and a long long taste. Just wonderful stuff from Lequin-Colin. A wine for those special occasions. Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2007, Lequin-Colin Great to drink and worth the 450NOK or 40€.

Easter soon. Found this Corton in the local shop. Grand Cru and a producer with a posh name. Posh price as well. Medium dark red colour with nice earthy smell of red berries. Velvety taste. Well balanced. Easy too drink. Somehow though it lacks the silkyness of Chambolle, the fatness of Beaune 1er cru, the acidity of Volnay. Its very good but somehow a bit boring, lacks a bit of character! Corton Grand Cru "Les Renardes" 2004 Prince Florent de Merode, very good but a bit boring....
