Ch. Malescasse 2003

This is a classical Bordeaux from the hot vintage of 2003. Lots of ripe red and dark fruit with a typical nose of pencil case as well. Delicious. Ripe and quite mature fruit with a good balance and soft integrated tannins. Smooth and harmonic. A very good wine from a warm year and very reasonable priced. Ch.Malescasse 2003, Haut Medoc Ca 17€ or 220 NOK Try with lamb, cheese or units own.

La Sirène de Giscours 2003

With increasing wine prices and especially for Bordeaux wines it can be favourable for your bank account and turn to the second wines that many of the Chateau in Bordeaux make. This one by Ch. Giscours has all the elements that you desire from a Medoc and cost around 20€ pending the vintage. It is drinking perfectly now with a great balance and lovely dark fruit, earthy flavours, ripe plum, spices and pencil sharpening. Long smooth taste. La Sirene de Giscours 2003 Margaux Ca 20€

Ch. Maucaillou 2015

This cru bourgeois from Moulis is very good value for money as the standard is consistently of grand cru classe quality. 2015 is a very good year and this shows here as well. Deep dark red colour with a lovely purple rim. Lovely nose dark fruit, cherries, blueberries and spices. On the palate it is ever so smooth with a great balance, firm body, surprisingly soft tannins and velvety and long finish. It is perfectly drinkable now but will improve over the next year 5-10 years. A great wine for less than 20€! Just stock up! Ch. Maucaillou 2015 Moulis Ca 17€ (on sale)
