Ch Siran 2000, Margaux

Could not resist to try this mature Bordeaux from Margaux with the fried Arctic cod. Dark ruby colour with a ruby rim. No signs of aging at all… Deep bouquet of dark berries, cherries, chocolate and pencil case. Text book stuff. Lovely long and well balanced taste. The tannins have softened and are well integrated. The wine is drinking perfectly now. Only two bottles left now…. Perfect with the cod... Ch Siran 2000, Margaux Purchase price 20€ , now do not really know

Kunstler Riesling 2011

This is a very seductive and easy drinking basic Riesling from Rheingau in Germany. Medium yellow green color. Pronounced smell of ripe apples, tropical fruit and some stone fruit. After having been opened for 24 hours, a slight swiff of petroleum could also be noted. Dry white with lots of fruit. Great acidity too. Beautiful balance and ever so easy to drink. Does not feel like a dry white at all….. Perfect with seafood and sushi or on its own…. Kunstler Bischofsberg Riesling 2011 Rheingau Ca 180 NOK or 12€

Wittmann Kirchspiel 2011 Riesling GG

This is a stunning dry Riesling from Rheinhessen in Germany. Aromatic and floral bouquet of apples, minerals and some tropical fruit. The taste is superbalanced with a great acidity. Long delicious dry aftertaste with a distinct minerality. The wine is great and expensive and could be cellared for many years, but is drinking beautifully now.... Il Frappato by Occhipinti, Sicily

This is a lovely "table wine" from Sicily by a young producer called Occhipinti. Frappato is a local grape and can remind you of a Burgundy in a way. Lots of fresh red fruit, perhaps more towards redcurrants and strawberries. Touch of herbs as well. Best served a bit chilled to get out the aromas and the fresh fruity and lively acidity in the wine. Great balance. Il Frappato 2011 Occhipinti Sicily Ca 25€ or 240NOK

Copain Pinot Noir Kiser En Haut 2009

This wine comes from just 60 meters further up the hill from en Bas… Equally seductive and elegant, but perhaps with a bit more acidity and minerality on the taste. Wonderful complex smell with something like freshly crushed red currants. The wine possesses a great acidity and an amazing balance. The aftertaste is pure velvet and ever so delicious. Amazing wine!! Copain Pinot Noir 2009 Kiser En Haut Anderson Valley ca 70usd

Copain Pinot Noir Kiser "En Bas" Anderson Valley

This is a stunning and captivating Pinot Noir from the Anderson valley just ten miles from the ocean. Cool climate and a stony soil have created this wonderful, complex and sumptuous fruity wine. Medium red color and a great complex smell of crushed redcurrant, red fruit and touch of minerals. A truly lovely and delicate incredible balanced taste that amazes you each time you take a sip. Copain single vineyards are probably one of the best Pinot's I have ever tasted from California…. Copain Pinot Noir 2009 Anderson Valley Kiser "en Bas"  70usd

Crozes Hermitage 2011 Fleury

This is a very good basic Crozes Hermitage by Vidal-Fleury. Deep dark ruby/purple color. Pronounced concentrated smell of dark berries and fruit with hint of pepper (typical Syrah). Very fruity taste with medium body and a lovely balanced aftertaste. Drink now or keep for 3-5 years. Best with red meat or game or on it's in front of the fireplace…. Crozes Hermitage 2011 Vidal-Fleury Ca 12€ or 180NOK

Tros de Clos 2011, Priorat

What a winterholiday! This is yet another wine that makes it to the top 2014 list. I first tried it in London during the Decanter Wine encounter in November last year and I was so ever so pleased when I found it again in the local wine shop. This Priorat wine by Alfredo Arribas is only produced in 1856 bottles and the one we had was bottle number 51… Wonderful dark ruby color and an amazing big and gorgeous taste that just goes on and on. Dark dense complex smell of blackcurrant, coffee, chocolate and spices. A truly great wine…! Tros de Clos 2011 Clos del Portal Priorat Ca 40€ or 440NOK

2012 Burgundy report by Berry Brothers & Rudd

2012 was a difficult vintage for the vigneron as the Burgundians struggled with hail, frost, bad flowering and disease. However, nature's natural selection produced a tiny crop of healthy highly concentrated berries that were a winemaker's dream. In my vintage report of 16 December, I described the result as more refined than 2009 (but less rich), richer and more approachable than 2010 (but less defined) with the same terroir recognition of 2008, but higher quality and more balanced. The reds are fabulous across the board: expressive, rich, with dark fruit and a vibrant energy that lifts the wine. The extrovert character of the wines is balanced by sufficient acidity that gives nerve and freshness to the wines. The small fragrant berries with high skin-to-fruit ratio have produced wines that are truly exciting with real Pinot character and individual expression of terroir. Without doubt a year for Pinot aficionados. The whites are more mixed than the reds, but in ma

Champagne 2009 Brut - Renard

Vintage Champagne by an unknown producer called Nomine-Renard. Pale straw color and discrete smell of nuts, citrus and touch of almond cake. Dry taste with a medium + acidity and a delicate mousse. Very refreshing taste with a very nice minerality. Special club 2009  Nomine-Renard Champagne 36€
