Crozes Hermitage 2011 Fleury

This is a very good basic Crozes Hermitage by Vidal-Fleury. Deep dark ruby/purple color. Pronounced concentrated smell of dark berries and fruit with hint of pepper (typical Syrah). Very fruity taste with medium body and a lovely balanced aftertaste. Drink now or keep for 3-5 years. Best with red meat or game or on it's in front of the fireplace…. Crozes Hermitage 2011 Vidal-Fleury Ca 12€ or 180NOK

Crozes Hermitage 2009 by Belle

This is just a wonderful red Crozes Hermitage from the great 2009 vintage. Cuvee Louis Belle is a truly fine cuvee year after year, but this 2009 excels in quality. The wine has an incredible dark inky colour. Truly wonderful in the glass. Packed with complex and ripe brambles on the nose. Enormous fruit and a big mouthful. Big dense taste, but at same time elegant and inviting. Truly great stuff! Crozes Hermitage 2009, Cuvee Louis Belle Good value for the 205NOK or roughly 15€ elsewhere.

Crozes Hermitage- Domaine du Colombier 2009

More 2009 Rhone wines are now available in the shop. These can be drunk immediately or stored for future events. This one by Domaine du Colombier comes from Crozes Hermitage and it is worth every penny despite being at the top of the low price range. Packed with  blackberries (or brambles as they say in Scotland) and pepper this is a lovely Crozes that fills your palate with nice fruit, balanced acidity and soft tannins. Long aftertaste as well from the Syrah grapes (100%). Perfect with red meat or game. 2009 maybe slightly more expensive than previous vintages but the added quality supersedes the additional costs. Crozes Hermitage 2009 by Domaine Colombier, low price 199 (15€), beautiful Crozes from the hills close to Hermitage. Buy before it is too late...

Crozes Hermitage "Les Meysonniers" 2009 by Chapoutier

This wine is made from 25 year old Syrah vines. Around 10% of the wine is stored on oak barrels for 10 months. 2009 is a great red wine year in France and the wine is a good example of classic Crozes Hermitage packed with brambles and hint of pepper on the nose. The taste is fruity, reflects the smell and is well balanced with a nice good length. Beautiful dark red colour with purple rim. It would probably benefit from a couple of more years in the cellar, but is drinking very well already. Les Meysonniers 2009, Crozes Hermitage by Chapoutier, Rhone Low price 179  or 13€ ( P+). Perfect with game. Hermitage - Crozes Hermitage - Saint Joseph - Cote Rotie - Condrieu - M. Chapoutier From Chapoutier tasting room in Tain l'Hermitage in Rhone.
