This is a dry Riesling which is harvested approximately 7 days later than the normal ones. Thus the term Spatlese on the label which means late harvest.
From this harvest a sweet white or dry white can be produced.
This one by Leitz is a dry version that fits very well with Aisan food for example.
Straw yellow colour with aromas of ripe aples, citrus and some mineralty. The taste has more body than a normal Riesling and is refreshing and fruity with a medium length.
The wine is from Rheingau (wine district in Germany) and from the town of Rudesheimer and a single vineyard called Bischofsberg.
At a price of 165 NOK or 12€ it is very good value for money.
