This was a new Barbera to me as it comes from the Monferrato area and not the usual suspects like Alba or Asti.
On top of that it was on sale: down from 250 NOK to 150 NOK!
Not often that happens in this part of the world, but the wine itself turned out to be a very pleasant surprise; full bodied, dark red with an explosion of dark fruit. A veritable bomb with nearly 15% alcohol as well.
What a surprise and what a shame that we did not manage to get more of this wine.
Barbera de Monferrato, Forti del Vento
A big solid fruity Barbera that should go with most meat including lamb.

We are very happy that you like our Podej! You know why we called that wine Podej? It's because we live in the Dolcetto Land, and that wine is the answer to the question: can you make a good barbera growing vines into the dolcetto lands? Podej (that in Piemontese means "potere" = You can) is the answer. You drinjed 2009, now 2010 is coming to your market!
