Pontac Lynch 2007

This is a lovely cru bourgeois from Margaux that is drinking perfectly right now. Available direct from producer, in the l'Ecluse restaurants in Paris or perhaps in some shops near you. Deep dark red colour and a very attractive nose of red berries and minerals. Long velvety taste with elegant soft tannins. A lovely glass of wine. 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot 30%,Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Ch Pontac Lynch 2007, 15€ or 260 NOK A great and reasonable Margaux.

Cote du Rhone 2009 Andre Brunel

This is a very cheap Cote du Rhone that is perfect with most red meat. Handy screwcork as well. Dark spicy berries on the nose with a deep dark purple colour. It is a fruity wine with a spicy and warm taste thanks to the 50/50 mix of Syrah and Grenache. CDR by Brunel, 115 NOK or ca 5 euro Cheap drinkable stuff

Sancerre by J Mellot

This is a classy and a bit pricy Sancerre, but sometimes you are worth it. Grass, citrus, and herbs on the nose. Quite a decent Sauvignon Blanc nose from Sancerre. Well balanced kind acidity makes it very approachable and less zingy and zesty like many Sauvignon Blancs from the cooler parts of the world. Perfect match with goat cheese, asparges and white fish (+soup) Sancerre " La Moussiere", Alphonse Mellot ca 200 NOK or 15€. A "mellow" Sancerre for late outdoor evenings.

Chianti Rufina 2009 Selvapiana

Selvapiana is one of the best roducers in Chianti and it shows. Nice smell of cherries, nuts and flowers. Taste of fruity red cherries with some kind tannins and acidity. Should go well with lamb. Very nice "daily" Chianti. Chianti Rufina 2009, Selvapiana ca NOK 160 or ca 10 €

Barbaresco 2001 Varaldo

What can I say? A more than ten year old Barberesco which has it all.. Lovely bouqet of autumn leaves, wet forrest and rose. Wonderfully balanced wine that would fit perfectly with a lamb. Great stuff even without food late at night... Barbaresco 2001 , Varaldo ca 35£

Etna Rosso 2009

This wine is from Sicily and is made from old vines of Mascalese and Mantelkato (40-140 years). Caldera Sottana is grown at 700 m altitude and is wonderfully rich and spicy. A charming lovely wine with hints of minerals and a lovely smooth finish. Great redcurrant smell and balanced acidity and tannins. Not unlike a red Burgundy on the taste. Would probably work with red meat. Ca 25€. Tenuta delle Terre Nere, Etna Rosso, 2009, Calderara Sottana

Ravenswood Dickerson Zinfandel 2006 Pricy but very nice indeed.
